Chat at the Cloister in Ephrata

I held an in-person Chat at the Cloister event with constituents of the 36th Senatorial District on Thursday, September 5, from 6-7:30 p.m. at The Ephrata Cloister in the Saal Building in Ephrata. I provided an update from Harrisburg and then opened it up for questions from the audience. Approximately 35 constituents attended and some of the topics discussed were:

  • Pennsylvania’s state budget, debt, surplus, and Rainy Day Fund.
  • Pennsylvania’s road conditions, the state’s gas tax, PennDOT roadwork projects, and traffic safety.
  • Property taxes, public school funding, and school choice.
  • Student smartphone restrictions in schools.
  • Election integrity and voter ID.
  • Grid reliability, energy shortages, and the potential to reopen Three Mile Island nuclear power plant.
