I held an in-person Coffee & Conversation event with constituents of the 36th Senatorial District on Monday, May 20, from 9:00am to 10:30am at the Columbia Market House in Columbia. I provided an update from Harrisburg and then opened it up for questions from the audience. Around 60 constituents attended and some of the topics discussed were:
- Status of the state budget process,
- Restricting student cellphone use during school,
- The Commission on Education & Economic Competitiveness,
- Updates to the Property Tax Rent Rebate program,
- Electric grid reliability and the closure of nuclear power plants,
- Criminal background checks for firearm purchases,
- Election integrity, mail-in ballots, and voter ID.
- School choice, and more.
