Manheim Area Chamber of Commerce Tour of Downtown Manheim

Kristie Schmid, Executive Director of the Manheim Area Chamber of Commerce, hosted Rep. Mindy Fee and me for a tour of all the phenomenal small businesses, restaurants, and sights that downtown Manheim has to offer.

The Manheim Area Chamber of Commerce has worked to help local businesses prosper for over 60 years. They serve the businesses of Manheim Borough, Penn Township, and Rapho Township by providing educational programs, networking events, marketing opportunities, and community experiences, and are particularly dedicated to making Manheim a great place in which to work, live, and prosper.

The tour included multiple stops in the heart of Manheim:

The site of a building for possible future expansion on Market Square. With the nice outside patio area, it may make for a lovely restaurant or café! We are so blessed to have such vibrant small towns in Lancaster County.

GlassHouse WineWorks co-owners Krista Cassidy and Greg Zittle make all their wine onsite. Established in 2020, the winery features a nice outside space with cornhole, area for entertainment and relaxation, and a pleasant inside seating area. Learn more on their website here.

The Curious Quill is a very quaint family-owned bookstore with a nice kid area and various books for all ages. Check it out on their website here.

Nearly-Nu Thrift Shop president Beth Mensch, and her son Preston, devote numerous hours sorting through items, and the profits from sales get donated every quarter to local organizations.

Horst Arts, a storefront owned and operated by husband-and-wife duo Jason & Katherine Horst, offers products and services in everything from fine arts to graphic arts. Learn more about Horst Arts on their website here.

Twisted Sisters Ice Cream and Handmade Chocolates is a great place to bring the family for hand-dipped creamery ice cream. In addition to their frozen options, they also have a large selection of hand-made chocolates, unique candies, and locally produced goods. Check out their website here.

One of my favorite things when visiting the many small towns of Lancaster County is meeting the locals! Rep. Mindy Fee and I ran into Bryan Zeamer, a Manheim resident, while on our tour of the many small businesses in downtown Manheim with the Manheim Area Chamber of Commerce.
