Senator Ryan Aument

Dear Friend,

As we begin a new legislative session in the General Assembly, I am anxious to get to work as your new state Senator and make progress on the issues that matter most to our communities. It is a true honor to represent you in Harrisburg.

Throughout my four years in the House of Representatives and my campaign for state Senate, I made it a priority to listen to the concerns of residents throughout northern Lancaster County so I could shape my legislative agenda around the issues that have the greatest impact on our region.

First and foremost, my highest priority will be to stay connected with the fiber of our communities. To keep the lines of communication open, I recently opened my district office in Lititz, created a website for local residents and opened accounts on social media sites to gather your feedback. I invite you to visit my website at www.senatoraument.com and connect with me on Facebook and Twitter.

I will also periodically send out email updates regarding legislative action in Harrisburg and local items of interest. I hope that you find this information useful.

Warmest regards,

Ryan

Swearing-In Ceremony Kicks Off Busy 2015-16 Legislative Session

Senator Aument

It was an incredible honor to officially take the oath of office in the state Senate on January 6. The swearing-in ceremony is the first step of a busy 2015-16 legislative session that should include discussion of some of the issues that many local residents have identified as their highest priorities – property tax reform, education funding and government spending.

The legislature faces a number of serious challenges that must be addressed in the months to come, including a property tax system that is straining family budgets and a public employee pension system that is draining state tax dollars. Education funding is a serious concern for many community residents, and action on these two issues is crucial to ensure more of our local and state tax dollars can be put to good use in the classroom. Both of these measures are extremely important to the long-term fiscal health of the state, and I am optimistic that legislators can find some common ground on these issues.
