Tele-Town Hall Scheduled for August 4

Your views are the most important resource I have to effectively represent you in the State Senator, and the input and opinions gathered during my first two telephone town hall meetings have been very enlightening. I appreciate all of the local residents who have participated in these events by asking questions, sharing perspectives and answering survey questions. In order to continue the process of gathering feedback and connecting with community residents, I plan to host another telephone town hall event on Tuesday, August 4 at 6:30 p.m.

If you would like to be added to the discussion, click here and enter your name, email address and phone number. Cell phone users can also text “aument” to 313131 to be added to the call. In addition, a live audio stream will be available online for smartphone, tablet and computer users.

Additional details on the event will be available at my website at www.SenatorAument.com. I hope you can join me for another thoughtful and informative discussion of the most important issues facing our communities.

I was excited to host members of the Afterschool Caucus, of which I serve as Co-Chairman, during a tour of Heritage Creek Farm Camp in Mount Joy Township. The camp does an amazing job of teaching young people the value of cooperation, environmental stewardship and community involvement. The visit was featured in the most recent edition of my Citizen Report TV show available here.

Videos Will Highlight Constituent Services

We all know how frustrating it can be when we run into a problem with State government. My district office in Lititz offers assistance with a wide range of common problems, such as applying for various programs and services like disability placards, birth certificates and more.

Over the next several weeks, I plan to add a new video feature to my website that will highlight some of the most important and frequent issues addressed at my district office. I am hopeful that these videos will help make these services more accessible to a larger number of community residents.

The new videos will be featured on my homepage at www.SenatorAument.com in the near future.

I recently had the honor of presenting Warwick High School student Shohini Banerjee with a Senate citation commending her for winning the top prize at the North Museum Science & Engineering Fair.

Property Tax and Rent Rebates Issued

The state Department of Revenue recently began issuing rebates to applicants for the Property Tax Rent Rebate program for taxes or rent paid in 2014. A total of $214 million was delivered to 456,000 homeowners and renters so far.

The deadline to apply for rebates on property taxes or rent paid in 2014 was recently extended from June 30 to December 31 to allow more eligible individuals to apply for the program. My office is available to assist anyone who needs help in completing an application.

Information and applications for the Property Tax Rent Rebate program are available online at www.revenue.state.pa.us or by calling toll-free 1-888-222-9190. Property Tax Rent Rebate claim forms and more information are also available at my district office in Lititz.

DCED Secretary Dennis Davin visited our area this week for a tour of Versatek Enterprises in Lititz.
